Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes
Servings: 8

🛒 Ingredients

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or half beef, half Italian sausage, also throw some pepperoni’s in there)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce or 3 cups homemade sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Cheese Mixture:

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese AND mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (fresh or dried)

For Assembly:

  • 9 lasagna noodles (cooked and drained)
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Extra Parmesan for topping

👩‍🍳 Directions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add garlic, tomato sauce, marinara, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and parsley until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna
In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread 1 cup of meat sauce on the bottom.
Layer with 3 noodles, ⅓ of the ricotta mixture, 1 cup mozzarella, and more meat sauce.
Repeat two more layers, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  5. Bake
Cover with foil (spray with nonstick spray so it doesn’t stick to the cheese).
Bake for 25 minutes covered, then uncover and bake another 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Cool and Serve
Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

🍽️ Tips

  • Use oven-ready noodles to save time.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • For a creamy twist, mix a bit of cream cheese into the ricotta layer.
